Tottenham: Spurs ‘most interested’ in signing Marcelo Brozovic

Tottenham Hotspur are the club ‘most interested’ in signing Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic with Nerazzurri chiefs now eager to cash in, according to reports.
The Lowdown: Spurs and Inter well connected…
Spurs have been linked with numerous Inter player since former Nerazzurri boss Antonio Conte was appointed as manager at the Premier League club in November 2021.
The north Londoners were credited with interest in Italy international Nicolo Barella and defender Milan Skriniar, with Tottenham also signing ex-Inter wing-back Ivan Perisic last summer.
Conte and Fabio Paratici’s links to Serie A undoubtedly played a role in this, with a report now sharing their firm interest in another San Siro star.
The Latest: Tottenham really want Brozovic…
According to Inter Live, the Lilywhites really want Croatia star Brozovic from Conte’s former club and are the team ‘most interested’ in acquiring his services.
It’s added that Inter chiefs Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio do not want to ‘miss the opportunity to cash in’ on the 30-year-old, who could be an ‘expendable element’.
The Verdict: Right man?
Paratici and co failed to add a central midfielder to Conte’s ranks in January despite links with the likes of Weston McKennie.
If Inter are indeed eager to sell the experienced Brozovic, who Conte already knows well, the player could be a solid option for Spurs to reinforce their ranks for 2023/24.
According to WhoScored, the £184,000-per-week star ranked in Inter’s top four by average match rating in Serie A last season, with only Skriniar and Samir Handanovic playing more league minutes. Brozovic was a mainstay and a crucial player in that campaign, as he also averaged more tackles per 90 than any of his team-mates.
Called ‘incredible’ by members of the press, the figurehead could come as a brilliant summer signing by Spurs if they decide to advance.
