Tottenham: Spurs could move for Max Kilman

Tottenham: Spurs could move for Max Kilman - Premier League News

Tottenham could target Wolves defender Max Kilman this summer as he may well be on the move, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye centre-back…

The Premier League top-four chasers are arguably in dire straits defensively, having shipped more goals than any other side in the top ten.

Spurs looked very fragile in their last league bout against Leicester City, conceding four goals, and the addition of a new world class central defender has long been coveted by manager Antonio Conte.

Targets like Stefan de Vrij have been mooted in the press recently, and according to Jacobs, Spurs may move for a centre-half on the British Isles.

The Latest: Spurs could move for Kilman…

Writing via his CaughtOffside substack, the journalist urges supporters to ‘keep an eye’ on Kilman.

Jacobs says Tottenham are interested in the 25-year-old and it is believed he could be on the way out of Molineux this summer.

The Verdict: Good option?

It is believed that Kilman could cost anywhere between £20 million-£30 million, according to reports in the press, and that could turn out being a very reasonable price.

The 6 foot 4 Englishman would add to Tottenham’s homegrown quota as well as reinforcing Conte’s ranks with an experienced with know-how in this division.

According to WhoScored, only goalkeeper Jose Sa has played more minutes for Wolves than Kilman this season as the mainstay is heavily favoured by Julen Lopetegui.

As well as this, Kilman has stood out as colossal defensive presence in that time – averaging more clearances and blocks per 90 than any Wolves player with over three starts (WhoScored).

Members of the media, like commentator Jacqui Oatley, have also lavished praise on defender – with Oatley calling him ‘nationally underrated’ and ‘pure class’.
