Tottenham: Bayern could press Spurs into contract talks for Harry Kane -Tottenham Hotspur News

Tottenham Hotspur could be forced into new contract talks for Harry Kane following a development involving Bayern Munich, according to reports.

The Lowdown: Nagelsmann sends a message…

Speaking to the media recently, Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann refused to rule out a future move for the England star given his admiration for the 28-year-old.

Their need to replace Robert Lewandowski is obvious following the serial goalscorer‘s departure to La Liga giants Barcelona, and Tottenham’s attacker is one man admired in Munich.

When asked about potentially signing Kane, Nagelsmann explained to the press“Very expensive, that is the problem. But a brilliant player, one of the best forwards.

“It would be possible that he would score a lot of goals in the Bundesliga but I think it will be tough for Bayern Munich to do this. We will see what happens in the future.”

The Latest: Spurs could accelerate Kane talks…

Following on from this development, The Evening Standard have made a contract claim as Spurs may look to fend off Bayern.

Kane has just 24 months remaining on his current deal, and by next summer, the 29-year-old will be heading into the final year of his contract in N17. As a result, Bayern’s interest ‘could press Spurs into talks over a new deal’.

The Verdict: Interesting season ahead…

The 2022/23 Premier League campaign could be pivotal in determining whether Kane puts pen to paper on an extension or opts to run down his contract at Tottenham.

He has made no secret of his desire to win silverware and Antonio Conte may just have to show the England captain that his dream can be fulfilled in N17.

Tottenham’s sporting director Fabio Paratici has managed to strengthen Spurs’ squad so far this summer whilst giving them the best possible chance to finally win a trophy for Kane, but it remains to be seen whether that investment will result in tangible glory.

For the sake of Kane remaining in north London, the next 12 months will be crucial as Conte aims to keep a star player who has even been called ‘underrated’ by members of the media over the past couple of years.
