Tottenham confirmed that they will shortly be opening season ticket renewals for the 2022/23 campaign, and the club are freezing ticket prices for all Lilywhites fans to attend.

In what is a reasonable financial gesture, it comes after two years of Tottenham being hit-hard by the effects of the global pandemic and mounting debt which has arisen as a consequence.

The club announced pre-tax losses of £80.2m in their latest set of financial results, with insider Wenham now giving his surprised reaction to this ticketing decision as a result.

The Latest: Wenham makes 'surprised' claim...

Speaking to Football Insider, the club insider was left stunned that Tottenham decided to freeze ticket prices in a boost for supporters, especially  since north London rivals Arsenal chose to increase theirs for next season.

Wenham stated: When I saw Arsenal were putting their prices up by 4%, I thought Tottenham would have seen that as an opportunity to add a minimum of 4% to their prices.

“I’m beyond surprised they decided to freeze prices, especially when a local rival chose to do so.

“Just from a financial point of view, it gave Spurs an excuse to put their prices up because they could just point out Arsenal had done it as well.

“I can only say I couldn’t be more surprised.”

The Verdict: Good news for Lilywhites...

The global pandemic has affected Tottenham supporters and the club financially, so this announcement of price freezing certainly comes as some welcome good news.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine is also set to see gas prices rise exponentially in what could yield even more monetary concerns for British households.

In these uncertain times, Tottenham making gestures like these should warrant only high praise.
