West Brom fans in the Transfer Tavern have ordered a round of shots to sink some gritty news they’ve overhead, which suggests they could be lumped with a troublemaker until the summer.
The Sun suggests Tottenham Hotspur may end their pursuit of Baggies forward Saido Berahino, as they’re not prepared to match the £23m bid they made for the England U21 international in the summer.
Spurs are in the market for a strike partner for Harry Kane but Mauricio Pochettino is unsure if 22-year-old Berahino is the man they need, with the player’s troublesome behaviour perhaps getting in the way of a deal.
Berahino sparked controversy in the summer when he refused to play for the Baggies again, a statement he later backed down from, but he’s clashed with manager Tony Pulis this season and has been a regular absentee from the first-team.
With West Brom sitting nine points above the relegation zone and securing a 2-2 draw with Chelsea last night, it doesn’t appear that the West Midlands outfit miss him- and a transfer is very much something Berahino needs.
Our landlord believes the player is getting exactly what he deserves from his behaviour and hopes he learns his lesson from being a spilt brat, stating he doesn’t deserve a move to North London.
