At the age of 51-years-old, Mike Dean is still refereeing top-flight football, and this weekend he’s been appointed to take charge of Tottenham vs Newcastle in the Premier League, something some Spurs fans aren’t happy with.

The Lilywhites only had to play five games last season in the top flight with Dean in charge, yet that was enough for him to dish out one red card to Mauricio Pochettino’s side and give three spot-kicks against them, including two in one game away at Wolves as Tottenham won 3-2, Transfermarkt.
So far this season, Pochettino’s side is unbeaten, albeit after only two games, and with Newcastle losing their opening two games, Spurs have to be the favourites for the tie, even if a lot of the fans are worried now that Dean is the man in the middle for the tie.
