We could have a transfer battle on our hands if an article in The Mirror is to be believed.
Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern are informed that Tottenham have joined Manchester United in the race for promising Ajax defender Joel Veltman.
The 22-year-old has recently emerged into the first team picture at the Amsterdam Arena and has reportedly been attracting suitors from across Europe.
We reported last week that Ajax’s director of football Marc Overmars is intent on holding onto his star players over the summer but interest is certainly mounting in Veltman.
Manchester United boss David Moyes is known to be have personally watched the young Dutch defender and views him as a solid addition to his current backline.
However so now are Spurs with chairman Daniel Levy convinced that the Dutch giants will sell at the right offer.
With around five months left of the current season you can be sure to hear of the Ajax starlet again.
Who do you believe will formalise their interest in Veltman? United or Spurs? Let us know your thoughts below.
