Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has made a transfer demand to sporting director Fabio Paratici behind the scenes, and it involves Roma starlet Nicola Zalewski.

The Lowdown: Spurs set for Serie A raid?

Recent reports have suggested that Paratici firmly has his eye on raiding Serie A for more Spurs signings, with links emerging to the likes of Nicolo Barella (Inter Milan) and Nicolo Zaniolo (Roma).

Weston McKennie of Juventus and Milan Skriniar of Inter are also allegedly being targeted by the Lilywhites ahead of what will be a very intriguing 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

Paratici has already sealed deals for six major signings this summer, bringing in Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet (loan) and Djed Spence. Despite that movement, though, Spurs supporters could still see more incomings this summer.

The Latest: Conte makes Zalewski demand...

Now. as per reports from Italy, Conte has made a behind-the-scenes transfer demand as he sets his sights on a swoop for Roma starlet Zalewski.

Indeed, according to Calciomercato (via Sport Witness), Tottenham's head coach is 'literally crazy' for the 20-year-old and has told Paratici to sign him.

Ligue 1 giants Paris-Saint Germain are also interested in Zalewski, making an offer which has been rejected by Jose Mourinho's side.

The Verdict: Get it done?

This move could be difficult to pull off given that Roma are apparently determined to keep the Poland international.

However, if Spurs could make the transfer a reality, he could be an exciting addition given his apparent potential and the fact that he has already amassed five senior caps at just 20 years of age.

Some in the Italian media even lavished Zalewski as the 'discovery of the season' over 2021/22, perhaps explaining Conte's huge personal interest in landing the Polish gem.
