According to a report by Calciomercato.com, via the Spurs Express on Twitter, representatives of right-back Serge Aurier have informed Tottenham Hotspur of his desire to leave north London - prompting plenty of reaction from Lilywhites on social media as they flock to this development.

Aurier enjoyed a briefly excellent run of form at the start of this season, seemingly turning a corner under former boss Jose Mourinho and attracting praise from sections of the media (Alasdair Gold).

The Ivorian even scored and notched an assist during a memorable 6-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford in October, but you could argue he has slumped in form (Sky Sports via the Boot Room).

Since the turn of the year, Aurier has sporadically been linked with a north London exit, and Calciomercato bring a development that the 28-year-old has a desire to leave.

Indeed, the player's representatives have even told Tottenham that he is now open to exiting the club - with many Tottenham supporters flocking to this news.

Perhaps harshly, they seem overjoyed, but their reaction is hardly unexpected given supporters have been asking questions of the defender for some time (football.london).
