Transfer Battle: Harry Kane vs Sergio Aguero

In Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero, the Premier League has two of the best strikers but also players in world football.

Kane has been a revelation since breaking into the Spurs side and has been a consistent goal threat since then.

Aguero likewise, has been a standout performer since he joined City and with him up front, City have a player that will go down as one of the best to ever grace the league.

Harry Kane

Widely regarded as the man likely to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record, at this point in time, Kane is one of the most sought-after players in Europe. The England international has been the league’s top scorer for the last three seasons, scoring 25, 29 and 30 respectively.

A product of Tottenham’s academy, it took Kane sometime before he was given his first start for the club. In his first full season, however, Kane erupted and scored 21 goals to shows that Spurs might just have a top talent on their hands.

Since then, he’s led a Spurs side that has enjoyed a resurgence under Mauricio Pochettino and at the moment, there’s no telling how many goals Kane will score for the club if he remains in north London for his entire career.

This season he’s already scored five in nine games and with his incredible finishing, Tottenham have a chance of beating anyone.

Sergio Aguero

He’ll forever be known as the man that scored the goal to win City’s maiden Premier League trophy but he’ll also be remembered as one of the greatest players to play in the league.

He might not be as clinical in front of goal as Kane but the Argentinian has the ability to hurt a team from anywhere on the pitch. With Aguero up front, City have won three titles although unfortunately, at times he’s also struggled with injuries. Overall, he’s scored 149 games in the Premier League and has certainly paid off the £38 million transfer fee.

What’s been even more impressive is that the Argentine has managed to shrug off the challenge of Gabriel Jesus to be Pep’s leading man going forward.

At this point in time, the £38 million fee seems incredibly cheap for a player that is completely world-class.

TT Grade: A+

A relentless goalscorer who looks like he’ll never stop scoring, Harry Kane looks like he has the potential to go down as the best striker to ever play in the Premier League. He may not have the ability with the ball at his feet as Aguero but his goalscoring is just too devastating.

Aguero has been a world-class striker for years and thanks to him, City are now regarded as one of the best sides in Europe. However, in this battle, Kane wins this one but only just.
