‘Smash next season with Bartley’ – Leeds United fans on Twitter absolutely loved comments

The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing the future of Pontus Jansson after his comments on Instagram raised a few eyebrows. Reputable Leeds United journalist, Phil Hay tweeted a screenshot of Jansson’s Instagram comments where the Swede claimed that he would never stand and talk about his club and that people should always read the real source before believing things.

These comments come after a number of Leeds fans jumped down the defender’s throat when the Swede supposedly claimed via Swedish outlet, Aftonbladet, that he was aware of the interest in him and that he’d leave questions about his future until after the World Cup. These comments now appear to be false and the Leeds fans propping our bar up are jumping to take back their statements claiming they’d be pleased to see the 27-year-old leave Elland Road.

Truth be told, the Swedish international is one of the best defenders in the Championship and despite a poor season from the club overall, the World Cup-bound central defender managed to shine still. He didn’t have Kyle Bartley next to him as he did in his debut season at the Yorkshire club but he’s still managed to look formidable, with a number of clubs having a good look at the defender as they prepare to bolster their squads for next season.
