World Cup winning striker David Trezeguet could be strutting his stuff in the Premier League before long, should reports in L’Equipe be believed.
The 33-year old Frenchman is available on a free transfer following his departure from Heracles this summer, and Swansea are thought to be keen on adding the experienced striker to their squad.
Trezeguet has a resumé that almost any professional footballer would envy, having won a plethora of trophies that include a World Cup, European Cup, Champions League, and five Serie A titles. In addition to this, his talents have been recognised on the individual level also, with Trezeguet collecting the World Player of the Year award, and Serie A top scorer award.
Whilst clubs such as Spurs, Aston Villa, and Nice have all been linked with a move for the former Juventus target man, Swansea, should he decide to join them, would be able to offer him regular first-team football, an opportunity that might not arise at a ‘bigger’ club.
Providing they can match Trezeguet’s ambition, and lure the player to the club, Brendan Rogers will have put down a big marker for the Welsh side, and Trezeguet may be able to provide them with the goals required to keep their top tier status next season.
