They may still have to confirm their new manager yet Chelsea are set to move ahead with their summer transfer plans according to the Daily Mail.
The club are set to announce that not only is Brazilian right back Wallace set to join the club but also Southampton’s Luke Shaw and Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle may also make it a trio of summer captures. Shaw will cost around £10 million yet is seen as a massive investment for the future and a long-term successor for Ashley Cole.
Chelsea are of course getting closer to unveiling Jose Mourinho as their new manager and given the Copa del Rey defeat to Real Madrid’s neighbours Atletico, that could well be as soon as this week – as long as the £10 million clause is met by Roman Abramovich.
As one of our punters quips, it seems that Mourinho could well be liaising with the men in power at Stamford Bridge and is having more of an input into these signings than we initially first thought.
Schurrle is set to join the club in a deal that has long been discussed and could also involve current Chelsea player Kevin de Bruyne who is out on loan at Werder Bremen currently.
