Manchester United remain without a Premier League title since 2013, when Robin Van Persie fired them to success in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season in charge at Old Trafford.
This level of success is not what our United fans here in the Tavern are used to seeing, and despite a trophy laden first campaign under Jose Mourinho last time out, this season they look far short of being able to challenge runaway title contenders Man City.
Our landlord thinks that City can be caught though eventually, but he feels next season will be the time to do it, with any hope for anyone hoping to catch the Citizens this term being extinguished by Pep Guardiola’s men and their fine form.
With this in mind, our punters have been having a good old chin wag with us here in the Tavern this week, and we came up with TWO reasons why Man United can bounce back and win the Premier League title next season…
Sanchez in full flight

United pulled off arguably the coup of the January window when they signed Chilean strike ace Alexis Sanchez from rivals Arsenal.
The exciting and enigmatic forward is a player of genuine world class ability, and on his day he has enough in the locker to win a game on his own.
With a few months under his belt and a full summer to really integrate into the United set up, Sanchez would well be the man to lead the Red Devils back to glory and make Pep and co regret not going all out themselves to sign the South American.
A determined Jose Mourinho

If there is one thing Jose Mourinho has proved over the years, it is that he is a winner, and is capable of competing with the very best in the business.
The Portuguese manager will be desperate to usurp Guardiola and co once more, much like he did during his time in Madrid when he wrestled the La Liga title back from the clutches of a rampant Barcelona side.
With City dominating this season, expect United and Jose to come back firing with all guns blazing next term and become one of the top contenders to take the Premier League title.
