Tyrone Mings heading to Aston Villa for medical ahead of loan with option to buy deal

Aston Villa have reportedly been in hot pursuit of Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings in recent days alongside a handful of other clubs, but it appears they have finally won the race for his signature.

Dean Smith has been looking to bolster his defensive options to aid his side’s bid for promotion this season, and it appears he is set to add a fantastic asset to his squad.

According to Sky Sports’ transfer centre live blog (07:10), Mings is travelling to the Midlands this morning for a medical ahead of a short term loan deal for the rest of the season, ensuring Villa will beat West Bromwich Albion and Derby County to his signature.

The report also claims that an option to buy clause will be included as part of the deal.

The Aston Villa supporters, Dean Smith and his players should be delighted if they can finalise the deal without any unexpected hiccups.

Standing at 6’5″ and boasting a fantastic set of technical attributes Mings has all of the credentials to establish himself at the heart of Villa’s defence and play a key role in the club’s bid for promotion this season.

The fact they have managed to insert an option to buy clause as part of the loan deal is a very wise move, as his performances are likely to convince the club that he’s a talent worth taking on board permanently once he has enjoyed a run of games in the side.
