Many Aston Villa fans have responded to a report which cites fans saying that the signing of Ollie Watkins was ‘overpriced’.
Having seen the likes of Mbwana Samatta, Keinan Davis and Wesley struggle for goals last season, Villa manager Dean Smith has now enhanced his attacking options with the arrival of Watkins. A scorer of 26 goals in the Championship for Brentford last term, the striker emerged as a potential option to bolster Villa’s attack, with his £28m move being announced earlier today.
The 24-year-old is Villa’s second signing of the transfer window after the £16m acquisition of defender Matty Cash from Nottingham Forest.
Following Watkins’ arrival at Villa Park, the report from Birmingham Live shares fan views from the likes of Leeds United, Sheffield United and West Brom, with many claiming that the deal was ‘overpriced’.
