Quoted by The Glasgow Evening Times, Rangers boss Mark Warburton has said that he may delve into the transfer market this January with our local Gers fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping that can get them up the table.
Whilst the Glasgow outfit have not performed poorly this season in their promotion to the Scottish top flight, they are well off the pace of current leaders Celtic.
Much to the chagrin of the Gers propping up the bar, they lost to the Bhoys 5-1 in the first Old Firm Derby of the season earlier on.
Warburton signed eleven players during the summer to help them compete this year but feels that there could be more arrivals when the window re-opens, should the need for them arise.
With the Joey Barton saga rumbling on at Ibrox, that’s good news for those from north of the border.
“We’ll see what we need. What we do is have options for every position. You don’t know what’s going to happen – if a bid comes in for one of your players”, said the ex-Brentford coach.
”You just don’t know.”
Rangers are fifth in the table, nine points behind Celtic who have a game in hand, and host Kilmarnock this weekend at Ibrox as they look to close the gap to their Glasgow rivals.
