The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting the Blues to sign a few more players in January…
For the most part, Chelsea’s summer was a tad disappointing. Some big names came in, of course, but given the number of competitions that the Blues will be in this summer, it’s pretty clear that more bodies are needed.
They could, of course, come in January, but going forward, it makes sense for Chelsea to get an early start on all things transfer related.
This is, at least according to Matt Law of the Telegraph, something that Chelsea are looking to do – with the Blues said to be in with a ‘realistic’ chance of signing Man City winger Raheem Sterling next summer.
Though the Blues are not reported to be desperate to land him, he could become available at the end of the season if Pep Guardiola gets his wish of signing Alexis Sanchez, and it would make sense for Chelsea to pounce.
A top attacking midfielder, Sterling would give Conte a great option going forward, whilst his homegrown status would also be key.
Unsurprisingly, this is a move that most Chelsea fans would get behind, with the supporters on Reddit hoping that a deal comes to fruition.
