Here at the Football Transfer Tavern we are laughing into our pints at the claim from the Daily Mail that Arsenal could land one of the hottest properties of them all in Radamel Falcao.
It has been rather hilariously claimed that not only do Arsenal have £80 million to spend in the summer but Wenger is also confident that the club could land the Colombian international if Atletico Madrid agreed to sell.
Quite how Wenger thinks he can lure the hottest property in football when Champions League football is not guaranteed but also trophies are not exactly a given is beyond us at the tavern.
It may even be viewed that a transfer from Atleti to Arsenal is a sideways move in his career or even a step down and the Colombian would have potentially more lucrative options elsewhere with Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid all registering their interest previously.
Wenger claimed that: “We can do it (Falcao). If we find a player of top, top quality we will take him.” Not only that but the French tactician also quipped: “We are in a stronger situation where we can spend some money. I’m not reluctant to do so. First of all, we only had money recently. We went out to spend money at Christmas but we didn’t find the players.”

sorry dont believe a word of this story. For a start Arsene never talks about another clubs players….plus we always play things close to the chest when it comes to transfers.
Maybe he afford the transfer, but doesnt afford his wages!! Oh and in a great possibility the desire of a player to play in Champions league instead of Europa..

I think best just ask Wenger’s father to play instead..it is free and it is in his blood, good quality just like old Arsene Wenger. Talk rubbish for the last 8 years and never get bored with it, amazing…with the current state I don’t think any star players who likes to join us in the summer-even Wenger is for real this time..
