Wenger really should secure a deal for these two right-wingers in January

Arsenal are looking like a very potent side at the moment and our fans of the Gunners here in the Transfer Tavern think this year could be their year.

After a slow start to proceedings this season, the club from the Emirates have really found their rhythm with a number of high-scoring displays.

They’ve scored a lot of goals against the likes of Chelsea, Swansea, Hull and Watford and even against Liverpool, although they lost the game eventually there.

They have to be, then, one of the most feared outfits in the division right now, and that means Arsene Wenger should be looking to really press home that advantage in the January window.

Our landlord agrees and thinks that if the Gunners want to show they’re serious about challenging on all fronts, not just in the Premier League – they need to sign some extra players.

Here are two right-wingers, then, who would be very suitable…

Lorenzo Insigne

Lorenzo Insigne

The Italian international and Napoli star can play down either the right or left and that would make him very useful to Arsenal who like to switch their attacking four around fairly often.

Another thing that would help him fit in is that he has pace to burn and opposing defences would surely have nightmares with him, Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez all running at them at full tilt.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Shaqiri may not have the pace of Insigne but he is still quick and, crucially, has Premier League experience.

The Swiss international has been impressive during his time in this country with Stoke but with the Potters slow start to the season mean that he may be considering where he goes next.

If Arsenal came calling he’d surely want to move on, it has to be said.
