Wenger simply must start these 2 players against Southampton today – Agreed

The Arsenal fans here in the Tavern are getting themselves prepared for this weekend’s FA Cup tie with Southampton, and will be hoping for a smooth progression to the next round.

The FA Cup is arguably the competition the Gunners have had their most success in under Arsene Wenger, and he will be once again desperate to add the trophy to his cabinet this season.

A few Arsenal performances of late have not quite been up to their usual expected level of performance, and plenty of talk at the bar this week has been about how the Gunners manager can shake things up in terms of team selection.

Our landlord thinks a couple of players deserve a more prominent starting role within the Arsenal line-up, and we agree.

So, here are TWO players Arsene Wenger simply must start this weekend…

Danny Welbeck

The recently recovered Welbeck will be itching for some minutes on the field, and this weekend could represent a chance for him to do that.

The former Man United man will be a welcome addition back into the Gunners squad for Wenger.

Welbeck offers something different to a lot of the other Arsenal players, with his pace, height, and power making him an excellent option going forward.

Lucas Perez

Summer signing Perez has not really had many chances, but he could find himself in the team this weekend.

Alexis Sanchez needs as much help as he can up top, and Perez’s trickery and ability to create chances makes him an excellent option for Wenger.

With Perez in alongside Welbeck and the ever impressive Sanchez, Arsenal could host a lethal attack for the game today.
