Wes Foderingham is no longer a Glasgow Rangers player.
The 29-year-old spent five years in all with the ‘Gers, making 143 appearances along the way and helping them return to the Scottish Premiership after they were demoted to the fourth tier following financial issues. However, he found playing time harder to come by in the last couple of seasons and was released along with Andy Halliday, Jordan Rossiter, Jason Holt, Jak Alnwick and Jon Flanagan.

His first team appearances were reduced as soon as Steven Gerrard walked through the door, playing just 13 times under the current boss, and the goalkeeper has now shed some light on his relationship with the manager. Speaking to The Open Goal Podcast (via Sky Sports), he said: “I found it strange. I had a meeting with the manager and he said I wasn’t his type of person, which I found quite strange.”

This has unsurprisingly caught the attention of many ‘Gers fans and they are not best pleased with his comments – they clearly believe that he shouldn’t speak out like this against the boss, with one supporter calling the quotes “classless” and another dubbing him a “liability”. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
Bottom line McGregor is a superior keeper and leader. Fods not a leader – that’s what the manager meant! Deal with it like a man and move on.

Hasn’t even left the club yet but feels the need to have a go at stevie G if he was good enough he would have played unfortunately he was a liability with a ball back to him it angers me that he feels the need to slag the club

Another departing player with no qualms about bad mouthing the club. Classless, but then, if what he claims is true, that’s also classless.
Shame, thought he was a good keeper for us. Still wish him well, although he’s not doing himself any favours with potential suitors 🙄 🇬🇧
