Our landlord here at the the Transfer Tavern believes that West Bromwich Albion have been a superb team this season under Tony Pulis.
They’ll be hoping that they can make an impact in the remainder of the January transfer window in order to maintain their great first half of the campaign.
The Baggies recruited so well in the summer which has put them in the position that they are currently in.
Many tipped them here in the Transfer Tavern to struggle this season but it couldn’t be more contrasting!
Pulis has adapted his style to the team and they are flying and look good currently to occupy a spot to qualify for the Europa League.
Being in that sort of position can make it easier to recruit the right kind of player.
They have already missed out on Schneiderlin to Everton and it’s important that they don’t make the same mistakes again and miss out on a player, as well as it being vital that they ensure they allow the right players to leave.
With that in mind, West Brom must be fearful of these TWO things happening during the January window…..
MISSING OUT ON ANOTHER BIG TARGET
After losing out to Everton in the race for Morgan Schneiderlin, it is key that the Baggies ensure they don’t miss out on another key target.
This target being SSC Napoli Italian attacker Manolo Gabbiadini.
They’ve been heavily linked recently to a number of Premier League clubs, the likes of West Ham and Leicester City – it’s important they show intent and go out and get their man.

The English striker has been subject to speculation for the last four transfer windows, with several teams wanting him and this January it is about time they offloaded the player.
He has talent that’s clear from the performances he has put in since breaking into the first team.
However, he hasn’t featured much and has been made to train alone.
It is important that he leaves not just for his sake and the clubs.
It would make sense to get him of their wage bill and to get money in for him before he just lets his contract run down.
