The West Ham and Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to see a turnaround in fortunes as the Premier League reaches the half way point…
Despite starting well, Everton have dropped off over the last couple of months – whilst West Ham have never really got going since moving to the London Stadium at the start of the season.
Both sides are expected to challenge for European football, and at present – both are a long way off, and so their respective fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a few new faces with the transfer window now officially open in England.
It would appear as though deals will be hard to come by, though, with both sides reportedly set to battle it out for Bundesliga forward David Selke.
According to the Daily Mail, RB Leipzig forward Selke is attracting interest from across the Premier League, with West Ham, Everton and Swansea City all in the running, though our landlord thinks that Swansea would struggle to compete considering their current precarious league position.
Currently 21-years-old, Selke was impressive last season – scoring 10 goals en route to his side gaining promotion to the Bundesliga.
His age, quality and goalscoring record has immediately perked the interest of everyone in the Transfer Tavern, and has subsequently delighted the Everton and West Ham fans – both of whom are confident that they can land the forward.
Our landlord thinks that the deal would certainly make sense, with the lethality displayed for the forward last season likely to be crucial for whichever side can capture him this month.
