West Ham: Fans fuming with Jarrod Bowen’s comments ahead of Liverpool clash

Loads of West Ham United supporters have been left reeling after comments made by Jarrod Bowen ahead of their Premier League clash against Liverpool.

The 23-year-old joined the Hammers from Hull City for £20 million on deadline day in January, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal with the east London outfit (BBC Sport). He is yet to start since his arrival, but David Moyes did give him his debut against Manchester City in midweek when he came on for a 10-minute cameo at the Etihad (Transfermarkt).

Whether he will be in the starting line-up at Anfield on Monday is unknown, but he has been speaking ahead of the game. He has insisted that nobody expects the Irons to get anything from their trip to Merseyside and that afterwards, they will play teams nearer to them in the table which is where they should look to gain their points.

Speaking via the official West Ham website, Bowen said: “There is a tough run of games but the pressure is not on us at Anfield as no-one expects us to get anything, so we can use that to our advantage. Then we play a lot of teams in the bottom half and we expect to pick up points and get ourselves out of this position.”

Those comments seem to have angered a number of Hammers fans, with some suggesting that he is being far too negative and insisting that they should be going to Liverpool with a belief that they can get some kind of positive result.

Here is how some supporters reacted to Bowen’s comments on Twitter…
