West Ham fans on Twitter fume over City walkover

Yesterday saw West Ham host Manchester City in one of the Premier League’s 3 o’clock kickoffs. In truth, most West Ham fans would have told you they didn’t stand a chance before the game, but when they were brushed aside by a comfortable 4-0 margin and The Hammers were fuming with the manner of the defeat, as their side barely turned up before getting thumped.

It was one of those performances that will be quickly forgotten by the fans and rightly so. Losing by such a margin is not the way The Irons wanted to spend their Saturday afternoon and putting the result aside if they’d had at least turned up and properly had a pop at the champions and still lost then the feeling would have been a much more positive one around The London Stadium.

There were some individual performances that the supporters were pleased with, but on the whole, there was a hugely negative vibe surrounding the fans after the game and rightly so. West Ham are now 13th in the table, although they’re only four points clear of the relegation zone as things at the bottom of the table look as tight as ever, and if they put in more performances like the one they did yesterday then they could find themselves in real trouble soon.

The Hammers were fuming with the way their side approached the game and will hope they can do much better when they face Newcastle next week.
