West Ham fans on Twitter were fuming when Pellegrini subbed Anderson

Yesterday, it’s fair to say that West Ham got hammered. Manchester City turned up at The London Stadium and ripped Manuel Pellegrini’s side apart. However, even when the game was gone at 3-0, The Irons were fuming when Pellegrini decided to substitute Felipe Anderson, who had been arguably their best player on an abysmal afternoon.

Anderson came off when there was just over 20 minutes to play at The London Stadium and both the players who came off the pitch and on to it had the West Ham fans frustrated. Andy Carroll was back available to The Hammers and took up a place on the bench as an unused substitute, although the fans would have loved to have seen him brought on instead of Lucas Perez, who did very little in his 20 minutes.

Not only did the Chilean gaffer fail to introduce Carroll to the action, but he also allowed Michail Antonio to play out the full 90 minutes, and that was a decision that frustrated a lot of The Irons, who have had enough of the winger-turned-striker and will be hoping he can have a spell out of the side as he attempts to regain some form. However, all of these complaints will be forgotten if they can bounce back against Newcastle next week.

The Irons will be hoping they can bounce back next week against Newcastle and will just be trying to put yesterday’s result and Pellegrini’s decisions out of their mind.
