Flocking to Twitter, plenty of West Ham United fans saw fit to lavish 'unsung hero' Fabian Balbuena with praise despite the Hammers eventually capitulating to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Man United - with Irons fans going on to laud his 'excellent' display.

Balbuena, who has been a pivotal figure for David Moyes this season, replacing the absentee Issa Diop to great effect, attracted even more praise from supporters after what was a solid outing regardless of the circumstances.

Tomas Soucek fired the Hammers into a lead, feeding off Declan Rice's headed lay off - a lead which Moyes' side deserved after their domination of the first period.

However, after a sensational strike by Paul Pogba to draw United level, which shouldn't have stood after the ball appeared to go out of play in the build up, West Ham couldn't quite recover.

Goals from Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford eventually sealed all three points for the travelling side, but despite the loss, these supporters still heaped praise on Balbuena for his performance.
