The landlord here at the Transfer Tavern is laughing his head off at Hammers owner David Sullivan, after he stated that he was optimistic of West Ham achieving a Premier league and FA cup double.
According to Talksport, the ex-Birmingham City co-chairman was in confident mood after West Ham’s fine start to the season. In fairness to Sullivan, it is difficult not to be optimistic if you are a Hammer, with their impressive form consisting of superb away wins against Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal, as well as their recent victory against struggling champions Chelsea.
Sullivan, along with David Gold and Karren Brady, have provided great support in the transfer window to Slaven Bilic, in order for the Croatian to build a superb squad to challenge on all fronts. The standout performer has of course been Dmitri Payet, though the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Victor Moses have also shone.
The only question mark over the Hammers is their stuttering home form, with disappointing losses to Bournemouth and Leicester taking the gloss over those aforementioned away wins. That said though, if West Ham start winning the games they should be winning, Sullivan’s dreams could become a reality sooner rather than later!
