West Ham United are facing a difficult summer following their relegation from the Premier League, with several key players attracting interest from elsewhere.
The Hammers have already seen Mateus Fernandes leave in a record-breaking move to Tottenham Hotspur, while the future of Jarrod Bowen remains uncertain.
Other important members of the squad, including El Hadji Malick Diouf, could also be targeted before the window closes.
Now, another of West Ham’s biggest assets is facing mounting transfer speculation.
West Ham Reject Summerville Bid
According to Sky Sports Italia, West Ham have rejected a second offer from Roma for Crysencio Summerville as the Serie A side continue their pursuit of the Dutch winger.
Roma’s latest proposal follows an initial bid worth around €46 million (£40m), which was also turned down by the Hammers. The Italian club are now waiting for a response as they look to negotiate a deal for the 24-year-old.
Summerville is reportedly open to joining Roma after being impressed by the club’s sporting project, but with no release clause included in his contract, negotiations between the two sides remain key.
The winger, who has been described as “incredible” by former West Ham midfielder Kevin Nolan, enjoyed a strong World Cup campaign with the Netherlands, scoring two goals and providing two assists as his country reached the knockout stages.
Roma are looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer and have also been monitoring Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and Benfica youngster Andreas Schjelderup.
For West Ham, however, losing Summerville would represent another major blow as they attempt to rebuild in the Championship.
