Our West Ham fans are feeling surprisingly positive this week despite certain things going very wrong in recent days.

Of course, the fact the Dimitri Payet wants to leave the club has not been welcomed but after the club’s performance at the weekend their local punters here are feeling more than upbeat.

The Hammers beat Crystal Palace 3-0 in a performance that was perfectly balanced and highlighted the togetherness and fight that is in the squad.

It suggested that they are going to stay up and that, actually, Payet isn’t needed that much at all.

Even so, our landlord reckons the club could do with signing some new players during this window just to be sure and reckons they should raid some of their London rivals for players in the coming weeks.

That in mind, then, here’s one Chelsea and one Arsenal star our landlord reckons the Hammers need to bring in…

Michy Batshuayi

Andy Carroll scored a superb goal at the weekend and reminded us all of just how good he can be when he is fit and firing.

However, there’s always going to be a risk that he gets another injury and so the Hammers need to get extra options in before the deadline. Certainly, Batshuayi would be an ideal option – even on loan – with him definitely wanting to prove a point to Antonio Conte.

David Ospina

Darren Randolph has done a decent enough job in goal recently but is he really good enough for the Hammers in the long-term?

They should be thinking, then, about bringing in Ospina who is never going to be first choice at Arsenal but could be elsewhere in the division. The ‘keeper is more than good enough to be a Premier League stopper and would surely help West Ham climb the division.
