Flocking to Twitter, many West Ham United fans have erupted with mixed responses as ExWHUemployee shares the latest on their interest in signing Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard.

The Englishman has been touted as one of the Irons' top targets for this summer transfer window alongside the signing of a new striker and top centre-half (Claret & Hugh).

However, in case a deal fails to materialise, West Ham have also earmarked West Bromwich Albion ace Matheus Pereira as an alternative signing, according to reports.

Lingard dazzled on loan at the London Stadium from Man United over the second half of 2020/2021, scoring nine goals and assisting four others in 16 Premier League starts - whilst also averaging more shots per 90 in that time than any West Ham player (WhoScored).

Sharing the latest on the state of play, ExWHUemployee has dropped an update on West Ham's pursuit of the 28-year-old on his West Ham Way podcast.

As explained by the reliable insider, GSB and West Ham are still going to try and convince Lingard to join the club this summer and haven't given up on their pursuit.

However, the move will require a 'substantial' bid, with this update prompting mixed responses from Hammers on social media over whether to continue or abandon the chase.
