In recent comments made on Twitter, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the latest on West Ham United’s interest in signing Jesse Lingard this month.
According to Romano, West Ham are indeed ‘in talks‘ with Manchester United to sign Lingard on a loan deal, after it was reported by The Telegraph that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had ‘reluctantly agreed’ to let the winger depart prior to the winter transfer window’s closure on February 1.

That report continued by stating that West Ham, Newcastle United, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United were all ‘thought to be interested in a loan deal’ for the £9 million-rated 28-year-old. Transfer Tavern Take
Despite the fact that Lingard is yet to play a minute of Premier League football for United so far this season, the winger has racked up 33 goals and provided 20 assists over his 210 appearances for the Red Devils, demonstrating that the 28-year-old can pose a significant threat going forwards.
However, when taking into account that Moyes currently has an arsenal of Said Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen, Andriy Yarmolenko and Michail Antonio at his disposal, all of whom are comfortable in operating from either flank, the argument could easily be made that the wide attacking areas at West Ham are not in desperate need of additions this month.
