Loads of West Ham United fans were left agreeing with what Adrian Durham had to say following their 2-0 defeat against Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The Hammers were toothless at the Etihad and didn’t even manage a single shot on target during the 90 minutes as City strolled to three easy points (BBC Sport). When discussing the match on his Drive show on talkSPORT, Durham was heavily critical of Moyes and one specific decision that the Scot made on the night.
“The three most expensive signings in West Ham United’s history, were all fit, but didn’t start the game. It’s inexplicable,” said Durham.
He is, of course, referring to Felipe Anderson, Sebastien Haller and new addition Jarrod Bowen, all of whom began the game at the Etihad on the bench. Only Bowen actually managed to get on the pitch, replacing Robert Snodgrass in the 80th minute.
Instead of playing those attacking players, Moyes instead opted for a very defensive 5-3-2 line-up which saw two players who aren’t recognised strikers playing up front in Michail Antonio and Snodgrass (Transfermarkt).
Many West Ham fans were quick to agree with Durham’s view that it was “inexplicable” that the trio were left out, with many taking to Twitter to air their views. Here is what some had to say…
Couldn’t agree more, it finest exactly breath confidence and shows what a door decision it was to appoint him.

Couldn’t agree more!! Beaten before the game started & no ambition to try & get back in the game even when a goal down. Expect the same against Liverpool 😡

Exactly last nights match was one to throw caution to the wind and go for it. What’s the betting he tries it against Liverpool (better team) and we get thrashed and he uses it to justify his tactics against city.

Bang on! The only thing that will save West Ham from the drop is to bring in a relegation expert Sam or pullis or some West Ham legends who will have demand respect and fight cos they love the club. Di canio like person or give it to Nolan.
