West Ham United manager David Moyes has admitted that he will take his time when it comes to getting new signing Jarrod Bowen into their starting 11 (via Evening Standard).
The former Hereford man joined the Hammers from Hull City on deadline day for a fee of £20m, agreeing a five-year-deal at the London Stadium (BBC Sport).
Having scored 16 goals in just 29 appearances for the Tigers in the Championship (Transfermarkt), most West Ham fans would have hoped to see the 23-year-old go straight into the starting line-up and add goals to a team which has really struggled of late and that has dropped into the Premier League relegation zone (BBC Sport). However, according to Moyes, the club need to be careful when it comes to integrating Bowen into the team, insisting that they must choose the right time to do so.
“I am also wary of putting the boys in too quickly. I have had lots of boys from the Championship in the past and I think it’s important that you put them in at the right time, the right moments, at the right time and we will just take our time and see when it’s right for Jarrod,” said Moyes (Evening Standard).
Those comments have angered many Irons fans, with some suggesting that it is negative from Moyes and that they need Bowen to be playing straight away. Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
He’s not starting then-great!

I wasn’t that down about Moyes being reappointed as I was hoping he could do enough to keep us up at least. I can’t understand his decision making anymore, the fact he dropped Fornals for Lanzini and probably destroyed his confidence and now this. I can’t back his choices

‘We’ll play him once we know we’re relegated’

This is ridiculous, what is wrong with putting him in quickly?! He’s not a pair of jeans we have to wear in, let him loose!
