West Ham United: Fans not happy with David Moyes’ Jarrod Bowen admission

West Ham United manager David Moyes has reiterated that he will not be rushed into putting new signing Jarrod Bowen into their starting line-up ahead of their clash against Liverpool.

The 23-year-old joined the Hammers from Hull City for a fee of around £20 million on deadline day in January (BBC Sport) having scored 16 goals in just 29 appearances for the Tigers in the Championship earlier in the campaign (Transfermarkt).

However, Moyes suggested before their game against Manchester City that he would take his time in putting the forward into their 11 (Evening Standard) and true to his word, he didn’t start at the Etihad (Transfermarkt). With West Ham sitting in the relegation zone at the moment (BBC Sport), they need positive results soon but it seems that Bowen will have to settle for a place on the bench once again when they visit Anfield.

Speaking about the former Hereford man, Moyes said (via Football London): “What I can tell you is he has looked sharp, he is certainly match fit, he has settled in very quickly and I would say he has added to the group, he has been a good addition to the squad.

“Hopefully he shows that but what I am not going to do is put him in positions where we are rushing him and he is not ready yet. I have had a lot of experience with Championship players and I know the right times when to put him in and when to not.”
