Things are certainly looking bleak for West Ham United at the moment after once again failing to win in the Premier League.
The Hammers blew a 3-1 lead against Brighton & Hove Albion at the London Stadium on Saturday, conceding twice in the last 15 minutes of the game to draw 3-3 (BBC Sport). The result means that David Moyes’ side have now dropped into the relegation zone with 13 games left to play (BBC Sport).
Quite a few of their players have been underperforming, however one who has come in for specific criticism on social media of late is French striker Sebastien Haller.
The 25-year-old joined the east London outfit from Eintracht Frankfurt for a club-record deal worth up to £45 million (BBC Sport). He initially made a good start to life at the Hammers, scoring four goals and providing one assist in his first seven league appearances (Transfermarkt).
However, since then he has really struggled. He has just two goals and one assist in his last 19 appearances (Transfermarkt) in all competitions which is certainly nowhere near good enough for a man who cost the club so much money.

Plenty of West Ham fans certainly aren’t happy about Haller’s performances this season, with several taking to Twitter to criticise him. Many accuse him of being lazy, whilst also slamming his touch, hold-up play and movement. Here is what some had to say…
The problem as I see it. He looks lazy. Not interested. His first touch is awful. Can’t hold the ball up. Yes we may not play to his strengths but he could do an awful lot more

Load of rubbish, it’s not just the goals the guy can’t control, hold the ball up, passing is poor, positioning is poor can’t remember the last time he had a shot. U don’t need a strike partner to do those things

Not playing to his strengths does not mean 60% work effort. Too often out muscled, closes down half hearted. Look at how hard those Liverpool forwards worked. Agreed he needs more support but come on. #COYI

HALLER SHOULD BE DROPPED FOR NEXT MATCH, SHOWS NO APPETITE FOR A FIGHT.AJETI NEEDS A CHANCE WITH BOWEN AND ANTONIO UP TOP WITH HIM.

Stop mollycoddling him and giving excuses. The guys touch is absymal, can’t hold the ball up, he’s weak, no movement in the box, and worst of all he’s bloody lazy.

He deserves criticism … lazy and 25M over priced … Arnie got the same service as Haller … difference is Haller isn’t prepared to chase / graft or fight

Nope, not having that. Criminally short of pace. Never scored a goal from outside the box in his whole career. Can’t see a pass over six feet away. Gives the ball and refuses to go. Never gets his head on a Snodgrass set piece. Never makes a run to near post.
