West Ham United fans are looking up with keen interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro seem to think that the club have a top class forward in their sights.
The player in question is Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez who has been sent on loan to Real Madrid for the season and is not exactly having the best time of it in Spain.
However, the Mexican international has been seeing the bench or stands more often than he would have liked with Carlo Ancelotti boasting the likes of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Jese as alternative forward options.
Add to that the fact that Louis van Gaal wants rid of the player who will see his contract with the Red Devils expire in 18 months and it seems that United would rather sell this summer than lose money should the player leave on a free.
Sam Allardyce is always up for a bargain and considering Hernandez will be available for around £8 million, we think it could be a match made in footballing heaven.
Our resident Hammers fans just hope that Hernandez doesn’t come in as a direct replacement for Enner Valencia who was linked with a late January switch to Chelsea recently.
