The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been tearing into Jorge Sampaoli after Argentina were thoroughly humiliated, losing 3-0 to Croatia in their second World Cup group game. The result means that La Albiceleste’s future is now out of their own hands, and City stars Sergio Aguero and Nicolas Otamendi could be facing an early start to pre-season.

Sergio Aguero was visibly fuming with the result and the way that his side went about the game, and after the game, he was asked about his manager’s comments. Sampaoli claimed after the defeat that the players failed to adapt and that the project had failed. These comments obviously made Manchester City’s record goalscorer very frustrated as he fired back at his national coach, saying: “Let him say what he wants.” as he angrily faced the media.
The game looked to be in contention with both sides having chances in the first half, however, with the game scoreless after 53 minutes, ex-City goalkeeper, Willy Cabellero’s awful miskick allowed Ante Rebic to open the scoring in spectacular style. El Classico midfielder’s Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric went on to add salt to the wound but after Aguero was subbed in the 54th minute the goalscoring threat from Argentina looked all but gone.

Sampaoli needs to be blamed adapt to what? There was project well guess what it failed and he needs to be sacked. Why can’t he play Dybala?

The City fans are obviously frustrated that Sampaoli has robbed their all-time record goalscorer of his last chance at a World Cup, although they’ll be pleased that he’s back in Manchester earlier than expected.
