The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t enjoyed the best season. Currently sat in 11th place, it’s fair to say that things have definitely been better for the Toffees.
Many of their issues have to do with managerial problems.
Ronald Koeman struggled at the start of the season prior to his dismissal, and whilst Sam Allardyce had an initial impact at Goodison Park, results have been a mixed bag over the last month or two.
Certainly, long-term, it remains to be seen whether Allardyce has what it takes to take Everton back up the table. His footballing style has critics, and with results far from perfect, it’s clear that he’s walking on a tightrope.
It would certainly be a huge surprise to see the Frenchman swap London for Merseyside, but stranger things have happened in football.
Nonetheless, the Everton fans over on Twitter aren’t buying it. Indeed, they’re pointing towards Arsenal’s poor form, combined with a need for a younger manager, as two reasons why they don’t want – nor do they expect – the Frenchman to move up north.

Not sure how I’d feel about Arsene Wenger coming to Everton. Back in his day he was one of the best managers in Europe and managed to secure CL with a relatively poor Arsenal team on a few occassions. However, he’s 68 and it looks as if his day has long gone #EFC
