The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed their side’s spending over the last 18 months. Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, the Red Devils have signed some of Europe’s best – and most expensive – talent, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba coming to Old Trafford.
That has, naturally, led to development on the field, with Mourinho’s men now firmly entrenched in second-place in the Premier League. Though not quite where they need to be, there has undoubtedly been some progress over the last few years.
Unsurprisingly, then, given the success, it doesn’t look like Man Utd’s spending is going to slow down anytime soon. According to the Independent, Toni Kroos is the next player in Jose Mourinho’s crosshairs, with the Portuguese eager to secure more quality in midfield.
Kroos – who is rated at £72 million by Transfer Markt – would certainly deliver that. The 28-year-old is a creative midfielder with an expert eye for a pass, and he’d be a perfect fit alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba in the midfield.
Unsurprisingly, it hasn’t taken long for Man Utd fans to react to the news over on Twitter, and it’s fair to say that they are unanimously behind the deal. Though many recognise that it won’t be easy, given that Real Madrid will likely not want to sell him, that isn’t taking away from their dreams of landing him.
