There hasn’t been much to shout about for the Manchester United fans crowded around one section of the bar in the Transfer Tavern of late.
Life under Jose Mourinho is looking as dull as it did under LVG and the Portuguese seems to be struggling to light up Old Trafford with much attacking enterprise.
So, reports from Sky Sports suggesting the club were about to seal an agreement over a new deal for Jesse Lingard have provoked an interesting reaction from fans online.
Told Jesse Lingard has agreed to sign new Manchester United contract. 4-year deal. Wages will treble to about £100,000 a week

As popular a figure as he may be, the England international isn’t likely to prove the remedy to United’s ills at the moment and the fact he is reportedly in line for £100k-per-week has done little to improve the mood of the United faithful.
While he could be a useful member of the squad, the notion of starting him in every game is barely the most inspiring.
With that in mind, here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to Lingard’s potential new four-year deal.
Did we really renewed Lingard contract for 100k per week!!!!!!??? so he can do what? Dab more?????? #Mufc

Lingard should have been sold instead gets an improved contract. No wonder we are full of mediocre players. #MUFC

Sure, Lingard's being paid a bomb over his abilities, but remember Walcott and Ashley Young both earn £110,000 a week. #mufc

This is absolutely disgusting, what a waste of money! #MUFC
