Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a rich vein of form in recent times as they continue to hunt down a top four place under Mauricio Pochettino.
The Lilywhites failed to spend a single penny during the summer transfer window, which has forced them to turn to a couple of the club’s youngsters in the current campaign.
Juan Foyth joined Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £8 million on the 30th of August 2017 on a five-year contract.
He made his debut for the club on the 19th of September 2017 in an EFL Cup tie against Barnsley, but failed to make an appearance in the Premier League as he had to settle for eight domestic cup appearances and one in Europe.
However, the South American made his Premier League debut for the club on the 3rd of November 2018 in a 3–2 away win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he conceded two penalties which were both converted. But, this didn’t have any kind of affect on him as he scored his first career goal against Crystal Palace and then went on to secure the Man of the Match award on his Argentina debut.
Toby Alderweireld’s future is still surrounded with a lot of doubt at this moment in time, with Manchester United still being linked with a move.
The youngster has plenty of potential and could easily become one of the future stars of the game, with comparisons already being drawn to Ledley King after his incredible tackle in the EFL Cup against West Ham United.
King made 268 appearances in North London and established himself as arguably the best central defender that the club have ever laid eyes on, but that title could be under threat with a new kid on the block.
So, if Mauricio Pochettino can continue to work his magic on another youngster after bringing Harry Winks on leaps and bounds, then he could go down in the club’s history if Foyth follows in the all-time Tottenham great’s footsteps.
