What’s The Deal With All The Empty Seats?

Watching the bore draw this afternoon between Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers it didn’t take me long to spot a pretty alarming quantity of unoccupied seats at Villa Park.

So can supporters of either side explain this mystery?

Clearly the odds are stacked against you all being psychic. Nobody could have predicted that the game was going to be quite that dull. So that leaves the fact the game was on television or ticket prices or were you in the pub watching on a dodgy stream or you genuinely hate McLeish that much?

Whatever the reasons, I’d be interested to hear them as to why such an early game in the Premiership schedule was so poorly attended. One figure I heard quoted was that there were in excess of nine thousand less in attendance for this game than the corresponding fixture in March.

Ouch.

His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
