Man Utd are on a good run, and the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern are pleased with that…
After a tough start to the season, the Red Devils have turned their season around magnificently – and whilst a Premier League title challenge is unlikely, there is still hope of a top 4 finish.
Surprisingly, Man Utd were pretty quiet throughout January – especially for a side looking to improve their league position – and that has left a few of the Man Utd fans in the Tavern feeling pretty frustrated.
After all, they are clearly some way off top spot, despite their good run of form, and a few changes in squad personnel made a lot of sense.
These changes, though, aren’t just limited to proposed incomings – but also players that should be sold. Mourinho needs to upgrade his squad, and as a result, he needs to move on a few players that simply aren’t good enough.
With that said, here are 2 players Man Utd should have sold in January…
Ashley Young

Ashley Young was touted with a move away throughout January, but nothing came of the speculation.
The Englishman looks set to remain at Old Trafford for the rest of the season, and in truth – it is tough to see why.
A decent player in his time, Young has never been a standout talent – and his age is quickly catching up to him.
With the strength in depth that Man Utd have in his position, he isn’t likely to play this year – so a sale makes sense.
Matteo Darmian

Matteo Darmian is a decent player, but he has rarely impressed in a Man Utd shirt.
This year, Jose Mourinho has hesitated to play him unless he has had no other choice – and so keeping hold of him makes little sense.
When everyone is fit, Darmian wouldn’t get close to the first team. Mourinho just doesn’t rate him, and a sale makes sense.
