The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern are getting more and more excited about the season ahead, following a good transfer window so far.
After failing to build on their successes from the 2015/16 season, West Ham finished 11th in the Premier League and had a season to forget last year.
Slaven Bilic has had a busy transfer window already bringing in the likes of Javier Hernandez from Bayern Leverkusen and Marko Arnautovic from Stoke.
The Croatian manager will be hoping some of these new signings can bring more balance to his side as they don’t have the easiest of opening fixtures.
The Hammers will be heading to Old Trafford for their first league game of the season so Bilic will want to put his best foot forward in one of the toughest games his side will have all season.
With that being said, here are two West Ham players who are not guaranteed to start against the Red Devils.
Andy Carroll
When Andy Carroll was fit, he was one of the best strikers in the league last season.
Unfortunately, he is rarely without an injury these days which prompted Bilic to sign former Man U striker, Javier Hernandez.
With one of the most talented strikers in Europe now in the West Ham ranks, it is very unlikely that Carroll will be getting a start on the opening day, or much at all for that matter.
Adrian
Another player who could be forced out due to a new transfer.
Adrian only made 16 appearances in the league last season conceding 25 goals in the process.
With West Ham recently confirming that they’ve brought in Joe Hart from Manchester City, it is likely that the England international will be starting the opening game over Adrian.
After a poor few seasons, Hart will be determined to get his career back on track at the London Stadium.
