Wolves contact house of Commons

commonsThe Sun is reporting that Mick McCarthy has lined up a £2 million bid for Derby midfielder Kris Commons. The 26-year-old Scotland international has not had the best of seasons so far but McCarthy is a fan of Commons’ abilities after his impressive year at Derby last season and previous good form for Nottingham Forest.

Wolves are looking for more of a creative spark with only Kevin Doyle having proven a consistent attacking threat so far this season and see Commons, who can play on the left wing or in the middle, as a perfect fit given his ability to drive forward and power in shots.

Commons has previously been linked with a move to the Premiership with talk last January over a £3 million move to Wigan or Newcastle after scoring the winning goal against Manchester United in a League Cup clash, but the move never materialised and Commons has instead continued to help Derby along. But the lure of the Premiership will be hard one to resist again.
