Loads of Wolves fans have been heaping praise on striker Raul Jimenez after The Athletic’s Tim Spiers wrote a brilliant piece about the pedigree of the 28-year-old.
The Wolves correspondent labelled Jimenez as “one of the most effective strikers in European football” and alluded to him being the most indispensable player to a club in the Premier League. When you look at all he is has done for his side, it is not hard to see where Spiers is coming from.
In the Premier League this season, he has reached double figures for goals, building on his 13 strikes from the campaign before. He has also provided six assists and managed to record an average of 3.3 shots per game (via WhoScored), showing the sort of proficiency and confidence he brings to the final third. In all three of those areas, no Wolves player has done better.
So what Virgil van Dijk is to Liverpool or Kevin De Bruyne to Manchester City, perhaps Jimenez is indeed the Wolves equivalent. He is an “awesome player” is how one fan simply put it.
Whatever the case, Both Spiers and supporters had only good things to say about the Mexico international…
Raul is a top top player and we are really blessed to have him.
