Some Wolves fans are hoping to see AEK Athens striker Nelson Oliveira join the club this month as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to bolster his forward options.
Raul Jimenez is the only real striker option at Molineux after Patrick Cutrone’s departure to Fiorentina, prompting the interest in Oliveira. And according to The Athletic’s Tim Spiers, progress is being made to bring the former Norwich City man back to England.
Oliveira had a decent spell at Carrow Road, scoring a total of 19 league goals in two seasons before moving to Reading on loan. He averaged 3.2 shots and 1.6 dribbles per game during his final campaign there, which is similar to Jimenez’s averages of 3.3 and 1.7 for the same categories this term (via WhoScored), suggesting that he could very well be a decent alternative to the Mexico international.
The Championship, of course, is a significantly weaker division than the Premier League. However, Oliveira has clearly done enough to convince these Wolves supporters…
Let Campana settle till summer in U23’s with Oliveira on the cheap for remainder of season. Happy with it.
