Wolves fans take to Twitter in delight reminiscing over Jota’s strike

It may have only been last night, but Wolves fans are already putting their famous win over Manchester United into the history books. After drawing 1-1 with the Red Devils at Old Trafford in the Premier League they went one better in the FA Cup and had a magic moment from the ever-impressive Diogo Jota to thank for it.

As Premier League strike partners go, Wolverhampton Wanderers may just be witnessing their best ever pairing in the form of Jota and Raul Jimenez, as they both netted again last night. Jimenez’s first was a well-taken strike despite everyone in Molineux, and those watching at home, believing that the Mexican had taken too long. But what followed that goal was a moment of pure magic.

Jota had all the space in the world to run into when he was played into space, yet he had still had Luke Shaw to beat before he could think about doubling his side’s lead. However, he made both look easy, as he left Shaw with a mouthful of grass before smashing past Sergio Romero at his near post and sending Molineux into pandemonium. Limbs were everywhere and even 24 hours on the adrenaline from the celebrations haven’t died down, as the fans know it’s a goal that will live long in the memory.

Jota is going a long way to stake a claim as one of the best players in the Premier League outside of the top six, and yesterday’s famous goal only helped his cause.
